First Baptist Church was founded on the core beliefs that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We are guided by the Holy Spirit and rely on the Bible as the basis of our beliefs and as a guide for daily living. We continue to use the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message as far as a document that we would support. We affirm all of God’s people as His ministers and understand the servant role of deacon as one that does not have gender barriers. Believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances that we participate in as a body of faith.
