Ministry of Counseling & Enrichment

On August 1, 1977, the First Baptist Church of Abilene, Texas, commissioned the beginning of a new ministry called the Ministry of Counseling. No official mission statement was written at the time the ministry was begun. The statement below is that of the director and is based on oral tradition.

MISSION STATEMENT - The Ministry of Counseling and Enrichment is to be an FBC-sponsored, Christian-oriented marriage and family-counseling resource. Eligible clients will include First Baptist Church members and any individual, couple, or family from the Big Country area who is therapeutically appropriate. Clients will be accepted regardless of their race, social class, or church affiliation and regardless of their ability to pay. The clients will pay a sliding-scale fee based on their income.

Please call 325-672-9999 for more information or to schedule an initial visit.
